Rally for the Cure proudly celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2016. We created our “Why I Rally” series to celebrate and honor our Ambassadors who’ve supported our program over the years. “Why I Rally” allows our Ambassadors and participants to tell their story, and share their commitment and dedication in helping put an end to breast cancer. Each and every one of you makes a difference!
Why WE Rally…
“How fortunate Waccabuc Country Club in Waccabuc, New York is to celebrate 20 years of supporting Rally for the Cure along with Rally’s same celebration. Why? Because so many of our women in the club have had mammograms, breast cancer diagnoses, minor and major surgeries and cancer treatments. Through it all, we have not only had the reminder to get that mammogram, but also to help women in need get a mammogram through the funds we have raised over the past 20 years.
I will be celebrating my 20th anniversary in 2018. It is really something to realize you have had breast cancer and have overcome the ramifications from it. The moment you are told, “You have breast cancer,” your life is changed as you know it. How do you deal with this diagnosis? Tell your family and friends, who will be there to give you love and support. Talk to your doctor and ask all kinds of questions – do not be shy! Only you can take care of your body and its needs. Research your options so you can make a wise decision. Go forward with faith and confidence. Never look back with a “Why ME?” attitude. Keep moving forward with your decisions and life.
Because of Rally for the Cure’s breast cancer education and awareness promotions, more women today are surviving their “You have breast cancer” diagnosis. Let’s keep supporting Rally for the Cure and all that it stands for. We are all in this together!
